Footholds and Foundations explores themes of support and structure. The performance seeks to demonstrate how individuals interact with each other, negotiating the boundaries of fixed space through motion. Architecture served as an inspiration for Arica Brown's work.
What Brings Us Here is about persevering and overcoming hardships with the assistance of community. It explores personal relationships, inner growth, and how aspects of life's journey can bring us exactly where we need to be.
Everything is Different was CKDC’s premiere concert as a 501(c)3 nonprofit dance company. Featuring the work of founder Arica Brown, this body of work was triggered by Frigyes Karinthy’s concept of Six Degrees of Separation. Brown partners with installation artist Cynthia Wolters to investigate identity, social connections and detachment.
